Assembly Majority Leader Rep. Jeff Fitzgerald, R-Horicon, also participated in the press conference. They discussed the status of negotiations over the state budget. |

In 2006 the Sokaogon Chippewa tribe created a new annual event – Mole Lake Heritage Days – to celebrate the tribe’s history and to raise money for a historical landmark on the its reservation. The Sokaogon Chippewa Community is a band of the Lake Superior Chippewa. Many members of the tribe reside on the Mole Lake Indian Reservation located in Forest County near the city of Crandon. |

University of Wisconsin-Madison Professor and author of the book "Henry Kissinger and the American Century" Jeremi Suri and Campus Antiwar Network member and university senior Zach Heise discussed past and present protests at the Madison Campus. The day before the discussion, Heise participated in a protest against the presence of Haliburton Co. recruiters at a career fair. The Campus Antiwar Network called the company's role in the Iraq reconstruction war-profiteering. Suri recalled a similar protest on campus in 1967 protest against recruiters for Dow Chemical Co., which was producing napalm, a chemical weapon used in the Vietnam War. |
