On March 8, 2012, the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economy and Small Business held a public hearing at the state Capitol on the following items: Assembly Bill 225: relating to federalizing the treatment of capital losses; Assembly Bill 358, relating to creating a nonrefundable individual and corporate income and franchise tax credit for purchasing and installing a thermal biomass heating system; Assembly Bill 647, relating to the office of the business ombudsman established and operated by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation; Assembly Bill 662, relating to safety mirrors on school buses; Assembly Bill 671, relating to legislative consideration of a biennial budget bill.  Upon conclusion of the public hearing, the committee will hold an executive session on Assembly Bill 575, relating to directing the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to develop a workforce training program and authorizing a technical college district board to obtain a state trust fund loan to provide workforce training.

Following the public hearing the committee held an informational hearing on Economics Wisconsin: Wisconsin Council on Economic Education.

On September 6, 2011 the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economy and Small Business held an informational hearing at the state Capitol in which representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue discussed the economic outlook for the State of Wisconsin. A question and answer session for committee members followed the presentation. Following the informational hearing, the committee then held an executive session on Assembly Bill 211, relating to an income and franchise tax credit for investments in a community development financial institution.
