The Government Accountability Board held a public meeting on May 15, 2012 in Madison. The GAB heard reports on several issues, including the April 3, 2012 presidential preference primary and the May 8, 2012 recall primary election, as well as the Verify the Recall analysis and a report on concealed carry restrictions in the GAB offices and at polling places. Also on their agenda was the approval of scope statements on single signer recall petitions, corporate campaign activity, and the use of stickers on student identification cards.

Wisconsin Women’s Health Policy Summit
The Third Annual Wisconsin Women’s Health Policy Summit, sponsored by the Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health, was held May 15, 2012 at the Monona Terrace. Karen Timberlake, Director of the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, provided the welcoming remarks and a Wisconsin women’s health update. The keynote address, “How Wisconsin Women Are Winning with the Affordable Care Act,” was presented by Judy Waxman, Vice President of Health & Reproductive Rights at the National Women's Law Center. There was also a legislative panel, moderated by former state legislator Barbara Notestein and including Department of Public Health Administrator Karen McKeown, State Senator Jennifer Schilling (D-La Crosse), and State Representatives Sandy Pasch (D-Milwaukee) and Chris Taylor (D-Madison).

Campaign 2012: Republican Party of Wisconsin State Convention (Part 1 of 4)
The Republican Party of Wisconsin State Convention kicked off with addresses by Brian Schimming, RPW first vice chairman, and State Senator Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) on May 12, 2012 in Green Bay. Various Republican legislators, both state and federal, also addressed the convention. Governor Scott Walker (R) then spoke to the Convention, where he reaffirmed his commitment to create 250,000 new jobs by the end of his first term. Governor Walker faces challenger, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, in a recall election on June 5.
