Arthur Kohl-Riggs is the only Republican challenging Gov. Scott Walker in the May 8 primary. Kohl-Riggs, of Madison, talked about his transition from Capitol protester to candidate for governor in a Newsmakers interview on April 19. Kohl-Riggs, 23, said he is running as a Republican to return to the progressive ideas of a former Wisconsin US Sen. and Gov. Robert "Fightin Bob" LaFollette. Unlike Walker, who has accepted individual donations of up $250,000, Kohl-Riggs said he will not accept donations of more than $100. The winner of the May 8 Republican primary will face a Democratic nominee in the June 5 recall election for governor.
