Who Makes the Rules?

Who makes the rules that all kids AND adults have to follow?

Kids have to follow a lot of different rules created by their parents, teachers and other adults. There are also special rules, called laws, created by elected Representatives at the capitol. Everyone has to follow these rules, even adults. These laws are meant to be fair, and help keep us safe and happy. In this lesson students share what they know about who makes different rules, and learn about who makes State laws. They brainstorm and come up with a new rule that could make things more fair, safe, and happy in their school, then vote on the proposals from their classmates.
